Practice Profile
Fernlea Veterinary Clinic was first established by Robin & Jane Leadbetter
in 1986 at Blackhorse Road in Kingswood. Following extensive alterations to
the building, this has now become a well recognised provider of quality veterinary
care to the local pet population.
In April 1999 we acquired the purpose built Veterinary Clinic on Martins Road
in Hanham. This has given us an exciting opportunity
to provide the same level of care to pets further afield, as well as providing
much needed extra clinical workspace.
- We have a team of 4 veterinary surgeons providing first opinion
Veterinary Care, with Robin Leadbetter MA VetMB MRCVS remaining as principal Veterinary Surgeon.
- Dr Hamish Denny MA VetMB PhD DSAO FRCVS & one of our veterinary surgeons Matthew Linnell BVSc CertSAS MRCVS provide an orthopaedic referral service to our clients and other veterinary practices.
- One of our full time vets - Richards Evans CertSAM MRCVS BVM&S - has passed his medical certificate and is also our ultrasonographer.
- We have a dedicated team of qualified veterinary nurses and student
nurses.We are a RCVS approved training centre for veterinary nurses and provide
facilities and services to meet the BSAVA practice standards scheme.
- Fernlea is a small animal practice and our aim is to provide the very
best care and treatment available to our patients. We recognise the need for
us to keep up to date with the latest ideas and developments in veterinary
medicine and so all our vets and nurses regularly attend courses to further
their continuing professional development.
